Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
Ah ok. Now it's funny every time I come to the web page I'm expecting a PM. I can't imagine all the work Volty had to put into this to make it all work. It must of been hard keeping things straight at times. Great job Volty! Sorry about your wife. So was either of them evil? or were they just killing each other out of competition?

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
Yeah, I had an excel spreadsheet to keep track of everything. I even programmed macros to make my workload a little lighter. I was spending an hour per day on average. By the end of the game the spreadsheet was up to 730kb!
Neither Andrew nor Adrian was evil. I gave them each a little substory that they could choose to use or not use when recruiting people. Andrew wanted to round up all the "heroes" so they could live together and not threaten society. Adrian wanted to let them live normal lives. However, that back story had no relationship to the game whatsoever.

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
BTW, the inspiration for the game was to make each player feel like the characters in Heroes season 1. They started off the game alone and discovered they had powers, but didn't really have anyone they could talk to about it. Then as the game progressed they met more people with powers and discovered that there was a complicated plot going on behind the scenes with different groups battling it out. Meanwhile there was a serial killer on the loose making headlines in the news (Sylar).
I'm sorry the game took so long. I had no idea how long it would last when I started. I'm also sorry for those of you who didn't join or took a long time to join a team, because the game probably wasn't very fun until you were on a team. I didn't do a very good job coming up with entertaining stuff for people to do before they joined teams. Thank you to those of you who stuck with it despite it being pretty boring.

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
Thanks man. I thought it was really cool that you were able to absorb my power after I saved you. I didn't realize we had so few people on our team. Volty, could you make a revised list of peoples abilities along with their names? I'm curious because there was a lot of talk about people being able to read other peoples messages. Also I think I may have misread one of your messages Matador about reviving Allen. I'm thinking I wasn't supposed to, but your message was quite clear to me that I was so I was just wondering if you could clarify?

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
batty, you did just fine. i switched from round to round quite often so you kept up pretty well. I don't know why we saved allen but he didn't deserve to die so. Also I couldn't save jane btw because i was only allowed to save a person once. As for the messages being read, I was just being paranoid. It was a preventative measure in the case someone could spy on messages. who knows in this game where people can be revived, teleport, transform and null abilities.

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
Here's the list of abilities:
Adrian Knox - Aquire abilities Andrew Knox - Block abilities Violet Bicknell - Invincible Jane Arwood - Block abilities Cynthia Hui - Teleport Sean Martin - Paint the future (reveal what city someone will be in during the next round) Pravdar Setty - Teleport Nicole Austin - Locate player (reveal what city someone was in during the current round) Richard Campbell - Shapeshifter Lindsey Hatley - Puppet master (force people to kill, book flights, use their ability, or call someone/put words in their mouth) Wei Peng - Kill someone without being in their city Roberta Garcia - Revive the dead (within 4 rounds) Allen Knox - no abilities
John Avilla (a.k.a. the vampire killer) - 1) steal abilities by drinking their blood 2) "Hero Compass": Locate the nearest person with an ability in the same city and introduce himself
Note that there was no ability to listen in on other people's phone calls although there were two abilities to generate fake phone calls (shapeshifter and puppet master) I kinda wish I had thought about the eavesdrop phone calls ability before the game started, that would've been fun.

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
heh. you came up with some cool abilities though. I realize now there were some abilities that if in team play would have made a huge difference. On my team we had: my 3 abilities of teleporting, shapeshifting, and healing Roberta's Healing and Jane's Block/Null abilities. Some very strong abilities were : Sean Martin - Paint the future (reveal what city someone will be in during the next round) Nicole Austin - Locate player (reveal what city someone was in during the current round) Lindsey Hatley - Puppet master (force people to kill, book flights, use their ability, or call someone/put words in their mouth) Wei Peng - Kill someone without being in their city
Lindsey probably being the most powerfull.
I assume sean's ability didn't work on me since I traveled everywhere?
This game couldve gone so many ways. traveling to one city instead of another could be huge.

Re: RPG*Heroes: Episode 1 - The Vampire Killer (Game Thread)
yeah, sean's ability allowed him to paint where you were located at the beginning of the round (i.e. the end of the current round) but wouldn't tell him where you would be at the end of the round after teleporting, for example.
Lindsey's ability turned out to be very difficult to use since you had to be in the same city as the person you were using it on.

yeah but by your own account we wouldve won sooner if you hadn't interfered. If you look at after andrew and violet died though it was a pretty even matchup. Both teams new the others members and so it was a killing frenzy. We only won because I was lucky and caught them both in the same city.

Correction, your team knew both of my teams members, my team, however, consisting of Tulip the paranoid and Star the clueless, did NOT know about Batty.
